My position and talents are the result of evolution. Evolution of soul and of expertise. My background in process engineering and project management developed over a period of about 30 years. I've always been excellent at organization of material, and my life has been constantly blessed with slices of creative experience. Where have I been, and what do I do?
I take creative ideas and organize them into a series of tasks that allow a creative soul to realize their dreams by participating in careful, insightful piloting.
I've been keeping journals for over 30 years, writing seriously for 10, and have been working on short stories, a novel, and most recently a non-fiction piece concerning the influence of media on emotional health. I have benefited from the editing expertise of the faculty of the Humber School for Writers in Toronto.
My career in communications began in 1974, my stint in electronic media spanned 13 years from 1980 to 1993 and launched a series of positions as a result of my talent for organization (project management) and my ability to communicate with creative people.
A realization years ago that people who write and troubleshoot computer code are not the type that communicate well with other humans, was the beginning of my career in 'bridging gaps' between technically minded (logic driven), and process minded (business driven) individuals.
A few years later, the bridges are being built between creative minds and their dreams of success. I find that it's necessary to guide expectations with possibilities, and the people I meet and help are much happier when they're led gently via routes that make their journeys less shocking.
My Project talents were honed in the Corporate Sector. With the demise of my Project Management tutoring firm Quantum Data, I was snapped up by the Calgary Health Region to work with their IT Department in preparation for the Y2K mark, and as team lead for their web enabled project management methodology integration. I then spent two years on the IT Project Team at Enmax before retiring from the Corporate world into a less bureaucratic and more positive, work focused atmosphere. I've been using the internet since it was a command line interface (what - no pictures?), and managing web based projects since 1995
My current project work is a result of referrals. It's rewarding that the people who come into this process are very excited by the results. There are 3 or 4 potential clients contacting me as a result of every finished project. It just keeps rolling.
