I've chosen to take on work that is interesting, creative in nature - projects that can provide a level of challenge and excitement;

Here are some examples that represent a slice of the past few years of development and Project Management;

DougMcCormick Online

  • Built on the Joomla Content Management System | MYSQL Database
  • The site you're now viewing is an example of a customer relations portal that allows communication of project related news items, project status, tasks, and management related information. The site is completely customizable and scaleable to include a multitude of functions - ecommerce, photo gallery, media feed (audio, video), or social networking modules can be implemented in the back end to provide whatever functionality your business requires.
  • Current Projects are linked from the main menu, contain all current project documents, and are accessible only to project principals.

 

Practical Magic

  • Built on the Joomla Content Management System | MYSQL Database
  • A dynamic, article driven educational site put together with ecommerce, client counseling, course selection and online learning modules.



Internet Reach

  • This site is a flat, search engine friendly directory. Simple html.
    It's a project that migrated from an internet based SEO firm into an Internet Directory. It exists mostly as a parking spot for a domain that is available for sale.


College of Esoteric Arts

  • This site is also built on the Joomla Content Management System (PHP front end, MySQL Database). This is a full service project incorporating events calendar, social networking, newsletter, ecommerce and photo gallery software solutions.
  • This is an interesting project, run by  my wife, Erin. It's a perfect example of how you can take a creative idea and massage it to life.
  • Current forward motion includes the implementation of a Learning Management System to enable Erin to teach her Manifesting and Life Skills programs world wide.


Studio Sublime Belly Dance

  • Built on the Joomla Content Management System (PHP front end, MySQL Database).
  • In progress - the owner is in the process of discovery - picking content management modules that will be the basis for the site presentation.


Calgary Lashes and

  • 2 Separate Content Management Systems built on a single Shared Hosting solution. Again, utilizing the Joomla CMS (PHP front end, MySQL Database).
  • In progress - the owner is taking the initiative in educating the Internet Searching public on some common misconceptions regarding the value of training, experience and integrity in the haircare and lashes industry. She's a dynamic business woman who demands success. An aggressive Search Engine Optimization policy has been adopted and I've managed to increase this clients contact level from 1 a week to between 4 and 5 calls a week. The site is dominating the SERPS (search engine results pages) at Google MSN and Yahoo for the targeted keyword phrases.

Update Congratulations! The owner of Ardivan Holdings presented our business plan to a team from the factory in Sao Paulo Brazil in January, and this month was awarded exclusive rights to retail their fashion products in Calgary. Watch for the retail opening in 2010!

  • Built on the Joomla Content Management System (PHP front end, MySQL Database).
  • Installed and configured this user friendly site for a local author who wanted a place for her audience to interact. She does the maintenance and asks when she needs coding help.


Infinite Power of Love

  • A portal designed to promote subscription and participation, utilizing the Joomla CMS (PHP front end, MySQL Database), and a newsletter subscription and mailing solution that drives a 90 day user dependant mailing campaign (unllimited users each with a unique start and delivery schedule spanning 90 days from time of subscription). Subscriptions are ported to a merchant account solution for distribution to a Foundation designed to distribute proceeds.
  • The process of subscription and choice enables the user to participate in a worldwide campaign for higher good.
